Most take the first day of the year off. I can’t blame them. It’s tradition to stay up and celebrate the beginning of a New Year. January 1st 2019 I woke up early, I had a little chat with the man above, I dressed for the day and walked out the door. I had no time to waste. I had a lease that was ready to be signed! I had

a plan and I had 60 days to transform a bare space into my new work place.

Okay, so yes, as most know that 60 days was cut short.... day 39 I was without a place to work. Thank God for old friends, I didn’t miss a beat and hair appointments were relocated for a week. Day 45 BLOOM passed inspection and at day 48 we opened our doors.

The salon was functional but far from done. Who knows if it will ever really be complete... we have a tendency to rearrange and redecorate constantly. We all get bored easily... it’s not a bad thing. At least I don’t think!

Fast forward to January 1st 2020... I work with the BEST! A lash artist who’s knowledge, talent and integrity can’t be matched. A beginning stylist with passion pumping through her blood like nothing I have ever seen! She’s one in a million and she chose to come work with ME! A thriving salon in full BLOOM thanks to a dedicated plant lady. We are way more than a salon. We are a family... The dream team.

It’s crazy to think all that can take place in one year. It’s amazing what can be accomplished with a little faith and the right mindset when you have supportive family & friends.

This past year has definitely been challenging. I have had days I was concerned for my own mental health. My mom and Rio always pick up my slack. Thank goodness for that.

My son always has my back. Mijo has been so supportive. He’s given ME a few pep talks and he actually has pretty good advice for a teenager but being that I’m his mom I wasn’t

too surprised by that.

So whats next?

Well ladies and gentlemen we have big things happening in 2020! Rio has relocated to Riverside for the next 11 months to attend barber school. He will be back to visit when he can and we will of course go see him and the ocean every chance we get!

I’m not gonna lie, it’s gonna be tough... but we will survive!

Mijo has my back, a drivers license and mad skills in the kitchen so me & him will be just fine... Rio is a Marine so there’s no doubt he can handle anything!

Wish us well... We are off to do incredible things!
